Bragging

I don’t want anyone imagining me as anything
other than the fool you’d encounter
if you saw me on the street or heard me talk.

FAQs

Basic things you need to know about coming to church.
Behavior in church. Parking and more.

When should you be in church for mass at 11am?
Usually 10 to 15 minutes before is sufficient to arrive to church when mass starts at 11am. At times the Latin mass is longer, especially on solemnities such as Palm Sunday or any other Sunday in the year, please wait downstairs for the latin mass parishoners to finish their liturgy.
What is gradual silence upon entry to church?
Many churches have special space of welcome where people gather before or after mass for visiting. Our vestibule is extremely small so upon entry through the main church door please lower your voice and if you must speak do it in the whisper mode. When you enter the doors from the vestibule to the church proper total sacred silence is required. Silentium Sacrum. Either before mass or after, especially no whispering is allowed, the only sounds that are heard in the church during, before and after mass are those of prayer, which is often silent itself. Please show veneration to the Blessed Sacrament in the main altar, where the red lamp is, by genuflecting on one knee twards the tabernacle, and when the Blessed Sacrament is exposed in the monstrance, on both knees and a bow to the floor.
What is the state of grace?
Catholic belief that only without a mortal sin on one's soul we can receive Holy Communion at mass. One of the most common mortal since committed today is skipping Sunday Mass.
Why is there a collection?
Traditional way of supporting the priest and the parish. The basic offering in our parish if one is using donation envelopes is $15 per week.
